Searching for Particles at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN

Peter Watkins will introduce some of the challenges faced in getting   the LHC and its huge detectors working and analysing the vast amount of collision data. He will also explain how the search for short-lived particles in these collisions is carried out and include some results on the discovery of a Higgs-like boson.
