Monday 07 April 2008 Dr Gill Langley
Science Director, Dr Hadwen Trust for Humane Research

"Replacing animal experiments - From Concept to Achievement"

A key solution to the animal experimentation dilemma is to prioritise the development and use of non-animal research methods that can replace laboratory animals. Gill Langley will talk about replacement methods of research: discussing the need, the benefits and the achievements, as well as overcoming barriers to further progress.

About the speaker:
Gill studied Zoology at Cambridge and has a PhD in neurochemistry. The Dr Hadwen Trust funds exclusively non-animal based medical research. Gill is a consultant to the European Commission and served on the UK Government's Animal Procedures Committee for 8 years.
