Winter is here and many people are planning their annual ski holidays. What are the challenges facing skiing in the next few years and how can scientists and engineers address this? Peter Styring is an EPSRC Advanced Media Fellow, a skier and also a Snowsports engineer. He will look at how engineering can help to develop new ski technologies to make us go faster and further than before and also have the ability to ski all year round. However, what is the environmental impact of such advances? The talk will use video imagery and some topical research to explain this fascinating and ultimately fun area!
